1. Who we are

CargoLinker is operated by CargoLinker Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17346346), registered office 19 John Street, South Moor, Stanley, County Durham, DH9 7BG, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Contact: info@cargolinker.co.uk, +44 (0)1207 774534.

2. What CargoLinker does

CargoLinker is an online marketplace. We introduce customers who need goods, vehicles or animals moved to independent transport providers (“carriers”). We do not transport anything ourselves.

When you book a carrier, your contract for the transport is with that carrier, not with us. The carrier is responsible for carrying out the job safely, legally and with reasonable care.

3. Quotes

  • Asking for quotes is free and creates no obligation to book.
  • Each quote shows the carrier’s price and our booking fee. Quotes are based on the information you give, so please describe your job accurately. A carrier may change or withdraw a quote if the job differs from your description.
  • Quotes are valid for the period shown, or 7 days if no period is shown.

4. Booking and payment

  • You confirm a booking by paying the booking fee online. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • You pay the balance of the price directly to the carrier, by the method and at the time agreed with them.
  • Once you have booked, we share your name, phone number and the job addresses with the carrier, and the carrier’s contact details with you.

5. Cancellations and refunds

  • If you cancel more than [48] hours before the agreed collection time, we will refund the booking fee.
  • If you cancel within [48] hours of collection, the booking fee is not refundable, and the carrier may charge a cancellation fee if agreed in their quote.
  • If the carrier cancels or fails to attend, we will refund the booking fee in full and try to find you another carrier.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. Carriers

  • Carriers must provide accurate information and keep the insurance, licences and permits needed for the jobs they accept, including goods-in-transit and public liability insurance.
  • Carriers must not ask customers to book or pay outside CargoLinker for jobs introduced by us.
  • We check carriers’ documents when they join and may suspend any carrier who no longer meets our standards.

7. Loss or damage

Loss of or damage to goods in transit is the carrier’s responsibility and is covered by the carrier’s insurance, subject to its terms. Report any problem to the carrier and to us as soon as possible, with photos. We will help you contact the carrier and make a claim.

8. Our responsibility

We will provide our introduction service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of carriers or customers. Our total liability to you in connection with any booking is limited to the booking fee you paid for it. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Prohibited items

You must not ask us to arrange transport of anything illegal, or of dangerous goods unless declared and carried by a carrier qualified to do so.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy, contact us at info@cargolinker.co.uk. We aim to reply within [5] working days.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
